The number of biopsy glomeruli required to determine the true proportion of FSGS in the kidney within ±10%, in 90% of biopsies, sampled from entire kidneys and JM regions only. The number of glomeruli required decreases exponentially as FSGS progresses. However hundreds to thousands of glomeruli are required until the true extent of FSGS reaches over 90% (Table 1)
