Genotypes and phenotypes of ascospores from a [Het-s] female × [Het-S] male, crossed at 18°C. All spores are homokaryotic at the het-s locus as a result of first-division segregation of the het-s alleles, which occurs in 90% of meioses. Aborted spores are indicated by a dagger. Percentages shown above are for early ripening asci; percentages below are for late-ripening asci. The latter are from perithecia allowed to grow older without releasing their spores.
