^aAt 12 days after infection, mice received no therapy or a single injection of anti-CD40 or rat IgG. Low-dose AMB (1 mg/kg) was given on days +14 and +17; optimal AMB (5 mg/kg) was given on days +14, +16, and +18. The results are from two experiments and indicate the means ± standard errors of the means for a total of seven to eight mice per group at each time point.
