Interstitial cells of Cajal of the jejunum contained HO-2 immunoreactivity, whereas HO-2 immunoreactivity was only in enteric neurons (at a plane just beneath the interstitial cells of Cajal) and not in interstitial cells of Cajal of the fundus.
