^aThe steady-state levels were determined with total RNA isolated from the indicated strains either from 25°C or after 1 h of temperature shift at 37°C as described in Materials and Methods. The level of each mRNA at each temperature in the NUP116 strain was arbitrarily chosen as 100%, and the relative levels at which mRNA in different strains were expressed as a percentage of that of strain NUP116 at respective temperatures. The level of CYH2 pre-mRNA in each strain was expressed as a percentage of the CYH2 mRNA level in strain NUP116 at each temperature. Where applicable, the mean values are presented (determined from three independent experiments) to nearest whole number. The number after the mean value represents the range of three independent experiments.
