Peaks 5 and 6, although well resolved on analytical HPLC (see Fig. 1B), were pooled as a mixture on preparative C18 column and therefore assayed as such. LD₅₀ is defined as the peptide concentration at which 50% of the viable cells were killed under the assay conditions.
