Single-fibre chemoafferent discharge recorded from one animal during control (10mm glucose) and low glucose superfusion (2mm glucose; bar). Discharge was binned into 20-s periods and frequency calculated as impulses s−1 (Hz). Discharge did not change significantly from control during the period of low glucose superfusion.
