Table 1.

Electrophysiological parameters of primary cultured wild-type and Scnn1b mutant CCD cells

CCD (n) RT (Ω cm2) PD (mV) Isc (μA cm−2)
+/+(L) (51) 1895 ± 93 − 30.3 ± 1.8 16.6 ± 1.8
L/+ (42) 1488 ± 47b − 56.9 ± 1.8b 39.3 ± 1.0a
L/L (41) 1352 ± 44b, c − 80.4 ± 3.7b, d 69.0 ± 6.7b, d
+/+(m) (30) 1962 ± 100 − 32.4 ± 2.5 17.0 ± 0.6
m/m (31) 2017 ± 240 − 5.7 ± 0.9b 3.2 ± 0.4b

Isolated CCDs were seeded and gn on Transwell filters as described in the Methods section. The transwwepithelial electrical resistance (RT), voltage (PD), and short-circuit current (Isc) were measured under basal conditions in confluent CCD cells dissected from L/+, L/L and m/m mice and the corresponding wild-type +/+(L) and +/+(m) littermates. Values are means ± s.e.m. from (n) individual measurements.
