Enzymatic activity of PAP-H in vitro. Ribosomes were isolated from yeast and incubated with PAP-H, ME, saporin, and ricin as described in “Materials and Methods.” rRNAs were extracted, treated with aniline, separated on a 4.5% (w/v) urea-polyacrylamide gel, and stained with ethidium bromide.
