Genomic Southern-blot analysis. Five micrograms of Arabidopsis (A) or 7 μg of radish (B) DNA was digested with the indicated restriction enzymes before electrophoresis in an agarose gel and subsequent transfer to a nylon membrane. The same membranes were successively probed with UBC19 (left panels) and UBC20 (right panels) cDNA probes. Size markers are indicated in kilobase pairs.
