The redox state of P700 in P. boryanum cells grown under various conditions of temperature (°C)/irradiance (μmol m⁻² s⁻¹) in the absence (control) and presence of 100 μm HgCl₂. The measurements were performed at growth temperatures of either 15°C or 29°C. After reaching a steady-state level of P700⁺ in the presence of far-red (FR) background light, single-turnover (ST) and multiple-turnover (MT) flashes of actinic light (AL) were applied as described in “Materials and Methods.” Representative traces of three to five independent experiments are shown.
