Root protoplasts were obtained from 15-d-old plants grown in vermiculite and leaf protoplasts from 4-week-old plants grown in soil. Data are means ± se (n = 20 root protoplasts from three plants and 40 leaf protoplasts from four or six plants). Different letters within a row indicate a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05) using one-way ANOVA followed by a Dunn's test.
