The amount of mRNA coding HPPK-DHPS was measured by semiquantitative RT-PCR using total RNA isolated from whole root and root tips. The amount of mRNA detected in differentiated roots was used as a reference. C, Accumulation of the HPPK-DHPS protein in roots and root tips.
