(A–C) Quantitative receptor binding studies analogous to those described in Fig. 1 A and C, but with three additional radiolabeled precursors, were performed either in the absence (A) or presence of 2.5 μM nonradioactively labeled pSSU (B) or pFd (C). The autoradiograms show the levels of free (Sup) and plastid-bound (Plastids) precursors before (0 min) and after a 15-min incubation with chloroplasts containing (+ 5-ALA) or lacking (− 5-ALA) 5-ALA-derived Pchlide.
