MIC2, MIC4, and SUB1 label a region near the moving junction during invasion and partially colocalize with MIC5. Pulse-invaded parasites on HFF monolayers were semipermeabilized and stained with anti-MIC5 (αMIC5), anti-MIC2 (αMIC2), anti-MIC4 (αMIC4), and anti-SUB1 (αSUB1). MIC4 is almost exclusively positioned near the moving junction, whereas SUB1 labels the entire posterior of the parasite. MIC2 and MIC5 are intermediate in that they show some labeling of the parasite posterior but the majority of the signal is near the moving junction, denoted by arrows.
