Sequences are shown for the three related trypanosomatids T. cruzi, T. brucei (gi: 70834348) and Leishmania major (gi: 68127548), and two other parasites Giardia lamblia (gi: 29248748) and Entamoeba histolítica (gi: 56468369) together with the sequence of the crystalized RpiBs from M. tuberculosis H37Rv (gi: 57116993) and E. coli (gi: 85676843 W3110). Similar residues according to the BLOSUM62 matrix are indicated by different tones of grey, according to the degree of similarity (darker grey indicates more similar residues). Mutated amino acid residues are underlined. M. tuberculosis Glu⁷⁵ is indicated with an asterisk. Residues that lie within the Rpi active-site pocket are annotated with 1 for the first subunit and with 2 for the second.
