Each sample size is weighted based on its observed numbers: 6,282 for single working females; 1,160 for single nonworking females; 14,725 for married working females; and 3,304 for married nonworking females.

Log predicted market wage was calculated based on the results of the OLS regression on log RN hourly wage controlling for sex, race, highest nursing education, years since graduation, region of employment, specialists per 1,000 population, and primary care practitioners per 1,000 population.
