The translesion replication assay was performed as described under Materials and Methods, with 2.5 μM MucA′ and 250 nM MucB for the indicated periods of time. The phosphorimage of the replication products is shown in the upper panel, and their quantification is shown in the lower panel. The percent of lesion bypass is calculated as the total amount of DNA extended beyond the abasic site, divided by the total amount of extended primers.
