EPIC1 protein is abundantly secreted into the tomato apoplast during infection. Equal volumes (10 μL from 10× concentrated) of tomato intercellular fluids isolated from noninfected leaves (To), infected leaves of tomato, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 d after inoculation with P. infestans, and P. infestans culture filtrate (CF) were used in western-blot analyses with EPIC1 antisera.
