Cardiac mortality and QRS duration. In the absence of an increased QRS duration and with relatively well preserved left ventricular function (ejection fraction (EF) > 35%), cardiac mortality rate was 17.9%. In contrast, if the QRS duration was ⩾ 150 ms and EF ⩽ 35%, cardiac mortality rose to 29.4%.
