Table 2.

Components of the TIMI (thrombolysis in myocardial infarction) risk score

  • Age >65 years

  • History of diabetes, hypertension, or angina

  • Documented coronary stenosis >50%

  • ST deviation

  • ⩾2 anginal events in the proceeding 24 hours

  • Aspirin treatment in the prior seven days

  • Increased cardiac markers

  • More prior congestive heart failure or more MI, coronary artery bypass grafting, or percutaneous coronary intervention

Each characteristic qualifies for one point in the risk score.
