Time course of L29 mRNA accumulation in leaves on illumination of etiolated maize seedlings. Total RNA was extracted from leaves of 10-day-old etiolated (D) or greening plants illuminated with white light for the number of hours indicated and fractionated electrophoretically in a 1% formaldehyde agarose gel (25 μg/lane). After transfer to Gene Screen filter (DuPont/NEN), the filter was hybridized with [α-³²P] dCTP-labeled maize L29 full-length cDNA, and 23S rRNA probe was used to assess loading differences.
