Colonic bacterial colonisation and translocation to the spleen were measured six weeks after trinitrobenzene sulphonic acid administration (controls were age matched). Treatment with rofecoxib (3 mg/kg) or vehicle was performed twice daily for the week prior to the rats being killed.
