Fas expression in the epithelium of jejunal mucosa from a coeliac patient cultured in vitro with medium only (A) or with peptic-tryptic (PT)-gliadin (B). In (B), intense staining for Fas is detected in almost all epithelial cells. Expression is particularly evident in the basolateral membrane of the enterocytes.
