 Detection of glycoprotein 96 (gp96) expression in macrophages of the intestinal mucosa with a polyclonal antibody. Frozen sections were cut and fixed in acetone for peroxidase staining. Gp96 was immunohistochemical detected in a first step with Vector NovaRED (red). In a second step the cellular marker for macrophages (CD68) was detected with benzidine dihydrochloride (BDHC) (dark blue, granular). Gp96 expression was detected in intestinal macrophages in non-inflamed mucosa (A). No gp96 expression was detected in intestinal macrophages in CD (B). No NovaRED reaction product was detected using rabbit immunglobulins in the first staining step. No BDHC reaction product was detected using mouse isotype control in the second staining step (C, D).
