Scatter plots reveal patterns of gene expression. Gene expression intensity from one mouse was plotted against the gene expression intensity of another mouse for all genes probed, both on a log scale. Each red dot is a gene that was expressed (“present”) in both mice. Blue dots are considered present in one mouse and absent in the other. Yellow dots are genes considered absent in both mice. Lines represent 2-, 5-, 10-, and 25-fold change. The width of the plot along the y = x line demonstrates a rough measure of variability in gene expression between the two mice with a narrow scatter indicating genes were expressed at similar intensities. Mice indicated as being exposed to UV were from the 6-hour group.
