BALB/c mice were inoculated intranasally 3 h before and 3 days after H37Rv aerosol infection with PBS, or MOPC315 IgA, or monomeric (M) or polymeric (P) fractions of affinity purified TBA61 IgA (4 mg/ml). Lung CFU compared to the PBS control were reduced significantly by both the monomeric (P = 0·00063) and polymeric (P = 0·021) fractions.
