Mast cell migration in response to LL-37. Mast cells (5 × 10⁴ cells/500 µl) placed in the culture inserts (upper compartment) were allowed to migrate towards 1–20 µg/ml of LL-37 or medium alone (0 µg/ml of LL-37) in each well of 24-well culture plates (lower compartment) for 3 hr at 37°. Mast cell migration was assessed by counting the number of cells through the polycarbonate membrane. The spontaneous cell migration (medium alone) was 20 ± 7 cells. Each point represents the mean ± standard deviation (SD) of four separate experiments.
