NF-κB acts synergistically with C/EBPβ to induce endogenous CRP expression. Hep3B cells were transiently transfected with the plasmids expressing the indicated transcription factors. After 40 hr, total RNA was isolated and subjected to Northern blot analysis. The blots were probed for CRP and GAPDH mRNA. CRP mRNA accumulation was analysed in a phosphorimager and normalized to GAPDH expression. (a) Cells were transfected with 250 ng of the plasmid expressing C/EBPβ and 500 ng of the individual plasmids expressing p50 and p65.
