Protein Gel Blot Analysis of the Mg-Chelatase D Subunit.
Total cell extracts of barley wild type and the mutants xantha-g28, -g37, -g44, -g45, and -g65 were analyzed. Wild-type level of the D subunit was only found in xantha-g45, while trace amounts were detected in xantha-g44. The D subunit is indicated by an arrow. The cross-reacting protein at 53 kD demonstrates that similar amounts of protein extract (5 μg) were loaded in each lane.
