Black squares are a subset of measurements plotted in Fig. 5 (six leftmost points). The open triangles are the results of calculations from the model. The value of the parameter giving this fit is 2.5 μm, i.e., the depth to which the tip had originally penetrated into the field of cilia was 2.5 μm (see Fig. 5).
