WT EGD-e and the hprK insertion mutant (::hprK) were grown in MM supplemented with 50 mM glucose (G) or 50 mM cellobiose (C). At OD₆₀₀ values of 0.6 (early growth phase) and 1.0 (later growth phase) proteins were prepared, equal amounts of proteins were separated by SDS-PAGE, and equivalent loading of the gels was controlled by Coomassie-staining (data not shown).
