The levels of IL-1β and IL-6 in serum (a) and liver (b) of phage-treated mice 1 day after P. aeruginosa inoculation (□; n = 9) were significantly lower than those in saline-treated control mice (▪; n = 9) (*, P < 0.05). The TNF-α level in the livers of phage-treated mice was significantly lower than that in the livers of the control mice (*, P < 0.05), and the results for TNF-α in the serum of phage-treated mice approached statistical significance (#, P = 0.0523) compared to the results for the control mice.
