Effect of clotrimazole on cyclosporin A-mediated inhibition of T cell proliferation. Cells were incubated for 5 days in culture medium with PPD in the presence of cyclosporin A alone as indicated or cyclosporin A plus clotrimazole. Clotrimazole (10 μM) was added 30 min before the addition of antigen. [3H]Thymidine (1 mCi) incorporation was then measured in triplicate wells. The bars represents three independent experiments ± SE. ∗, P ≤ 0.05 vs. control. Eleven other experiments using Candida albicans, tetanus toxin, Con A, or PHA as the antigen/mitogen challenge gave similar results.
