X4-infected CD4+ T cells were cultured for 7 days in the absence or presence of 100 ng/mL recombinant IL-27. HIV replication was monitored using p24 antigen capture assay. Data show means ± SD (ng/mL). A total cellular RNA was extracted from the cultured cells as described in “Quantitation of transcribed HIV RNA,” and then the copy number of HIV transcripts was determined by a real-time quantitative RT-PCR. Copy numbers determined from real-time quantitative PCR experiments were adjusted for cell equivalents using CCR5. Data show means ± SD (× 108 copies/106 cells). Values in parentheses show percentage of activity compared with untreated cells.
