BrdUrd-positive cells are more prevalent in the anterior horn where the SVZ is thicker, but reappear throughout the SVZ. BrdUrd-positive nuclei initially appear away from the infusion site (white area in the dorsal SVZ), suggesting that more cells were killed in that region or that some Ara-C remains in the tissue.
