The myeloperoxidase (MPO) level in the colon of macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) transgenic (Tg) mice (n = 6) increased at days 3 and 7 after treatment of 1% dextran sulphate sodium (DSS) compared with that of wild-type (WT) mice (n = 6). MPO level was determined as described in Materials and methods. Open box, WT mice; closed box, MIF Tg mice. All data are expressed as the mean ± s.e.
