Leptin release from adipocytes incubated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS), peptidoglycan (PEP) and lactobacilli from SJL (▪) and C57BL/6 (□) mice. Adipocytes were treated for 24 h with bacterial extracts and leptin levels were quantified using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) test. Experiments were conducted in triplicate.
