The information regarding thymic and extrathymic maturation is based on [6,7,10,16–18], indicating whether the subsets are present in high (+ +) or low (+) proportions or absent (−). Arrows indicate whether the proportions were increased or decreased in the study group compared with the control group. No difference is shown by an equals sign; n.s.: not significantly different from control group.
