Sodium dodecyl sulphate–polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) analysis of cochlin and β-tectorin expression in BL21(DE3)pLysS and following nickel–nitrilotriacetic acid (Ni–NTA) purification. Bacterial lysate and Ni–NTA purified products of cochlin (a) and β-tectorin (b) were electropheresed in precast 4–16% NuPage gels and stained with Coomassie blue. Arrows indicate bands corresponding to the respective antigens.
