GA promotes the vacuolation of cells in isolated Col aleurone layers incubated at 30°C. Layers were incubated for 2 d in vitro on agarose with or without 10 μm GA₃ and at 23°C or 30°C. Note that cells did not vacuolate at 30°C in the absence of GA but did vacuolate at 30°C in the presence of GA. Data are presented for that part of the aleurone layer proximal to the root/hypocotyl (root) and that part proximal to the cotyledons (shoot). Bars are means ± sd.
