Figure 6

Intrahippocampal administration of wortmannin did not alter Erk or the calcium/cAMP response element binding protein (CREB) phosphorylation. The phosphorylation levels of Erk and CREB were investigated following infusion of 8.5 ng (or 5 μg) wortmannin into one hippocampus and compared to the vehicle-infused contralateral side of the same animal. Summary data showing the levels of phospho-Erk immunoreactivity were not affected by either (A) 8.5 ng/hippocampus or (B) 5 μg/hippocampus wortmannin administration. Similarly, phospho-CREB immunoreactivity was also unaffected by either (C) 8.5 ng/hippocampus or (D) 5 μg/hippocampus wortmannin administration. Data are presented as the mean ± SEM from three independent experiments.
