cpnA⁻ cells exhibit a slight cytokinesis defect. Wild-type cells (wt), nonhomologous recombination blasticidin-resistant control cells (bsr), wild-type cells expressing GFP-CpnA (wt/GFP-CpnA), cpnA⁻ cells expressing GFP-CpnA (cpnA-/GFP-CpnA) and cpnA⁻ cells (cpnA-) were grown in HL-5 on plates (A) or in suspension (B) for 6 days. Cell samples from each were fixed and stained with DAPI, and the numbers of nuclei in individual cells were counted using fluorescence microscopy. The percentages of cells containing a particular number of nuclei were calculated for two independent experiments and averaged. The error bars represent standard error.
