A model for growth inhibition by Hpo, Wts and Mats tumor suppressors. Hpo kinase, acting downstream of Mer and Ex, directly activates Mats via phosphorylation in addition to targeting Wts. Consequently, Mats becomes a potent activator of Wts kinase to phosphorylate a downstream transcription cofactor Yki for down-regulation.
