Summary of mip120 and mip40 mutant fertility

The descriptions of the crosses and classes of mutants are in the footnote for Table 1. At least five independent experiments, for a total of 50–100 animals, were performed for each genotype listed, and the values listed represent the average percent fertility ± standard deviation. Fertility was determined by scoring for the presence of at least one larva in each vial after 7 d at 25°C. (ND) Not done. The data for mip120 are above the dotted line, and the data for mip40 are below the dotted line.

aThe actual number of larvae per vial was ∼0.5%–1% of wild type.
