Cd stress decreases the Fe concentration in the xylem sap of Fe-deficient plants. Fe and Cd concentrations in the xylem bleeding sap of Fe-resupplied plants grown in the absence (control) or presence of 25 μm Cd. Plants were precultured for 23 d under Fe deficiency before Fe and Cd were added to the nutrient solution for a period of 48 h.
