Simultaneous fermentation of xylose by acclimated Z. palmae/pMFY31-Pgap-xylA/xylB-Pgap-tal/tktA under resting conditions. The acclimated strain was precultured statically in T medium containing 40 g/liter xylose (A) or 40 g/liter glucose (B) for 48 h at 30°C. Harvested cells were resuspended in T medium containing a mixture of 40 g/liter glucose and 40 g/liter xylose to give a concentration of 8.2 mg (dry weight) of cells/ml and incubated statically at 30°C.
