Growth curves for the spacp-regulated gcp mutant. The spacp-regulated gcp mutant was incubated overnight in TSB in the presence of 1 mM IPTG. Bacteria were diluted in fresh TSB and incubated in TSB, with or without IPTG, at 37°C with shaking. Different concentrations of IPTG were added to the bacterial cultures without IPTG 24 h after incubation. The bacterial cultures were continuously incubated at 37°C, with shaking, and the OD₆₀₀ of the cultures was measured every hour.
