Transmural wall resistance (R^t) as well as epithelial (R^e) and subepithelial (R^sub) resistance portions as determined by impedance spectroscopy. R^t/R^e is the correction factor of active transport rates (eg, I_sc values) for R^sub contributions as described under the Results section. Mannitol flux (J_Man) was measured as unidirectional flux in m‐to‐s direction in the Ussing chamber. All data represent means (SEM).
