Total RNA (1 μg) was reverse transcribed and cDNA was exponentially amplified by PCR in the presence of gene-specific primers. (A) The PhosphorImager scan is presented after separation of radioactive PCR product by electrophoresis in 1.5% agarose. The results are verified to GAPDH mRNA PCR product used as internal standard. (B) The relative mRNA levels for OTR, ANP, and CNP in the vena cava (lane 2), pulmonary vein (lane 3), and pulmonary artery (lane 4) were compared with the level detected in the aorta (lane 1).
